Strawberry Puff Pastry
Sweet with buttery notes from the pastry and a fruity tartness from the strawberries.
Ingredients- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, for dusting
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Preparation- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into four equal squares.
- Mix the diced strawberries with the strawberry jam in a small bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold each square over from corner to corner, forming a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
- Brush the top of each pastry with the beaten egg to ensure a golden finish.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
