Quince Jam
Sweet with a hint of tartness and a warm cinnamon aroma.
Ingredients- 4 quinces
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- 1 cinnamon stick
Preparation- Peel and core the quinces, then chop them into small pieces.
- Place the quince pieces into a large saucepan with 2 cups of water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer until the quinces are tender, about 30-40 minutes.
- Add 2 cups of sugar, the juice of 1 lemon, and the cinnamon stick to the pan.
- Stir the mixture and simmer until the liquid thickens and turns pink, approximately 1-2 hours.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender.
- Return the mashed quince to the pan and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until thickened to desired consistency.
- Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
